Behind

Apple.com

Phrases

Showing Rather than Telling.

Capturing the Moment.

An observation of mine is how Apple makes statements. Instead of telling how their chip is cutting edge, they focus on the application of how this processing power allows for Portrait Mode. Nothing is absolute, but more so loose statements that get you thinking.

Design

Roundness.

In making my website, I wanted to understand what made Apple.com enjoyable for the end user. One of the notable aspects I’ve observed is the use of rounded corners in each section.

I came across a website outlining the different percentages of Apple products’ roundness calculated by dividing the diameter by the length of the side. Similar to Airbnb and Rivian, the use of roundness provides a sense of comfort for the end user, compared to having hard, defined edges.

Color.

Small, But Intentional Detail.

Notice, what catches our eye here. In reality, most people window shop. While keeping it simple, Apple highlights what matters with solid white (hex #ffffff) in contrast with a light gray (hex #aeaeb5), avoiding the need to change the weight of the typeface.

Also, notice the choice of blue (hex #0071E3). We associate this blue is a color with an Action in the Apple ecosystem. In this case, purchasing iPad Pro.

My Website

Did You Notice This?

It’s from the Apple Watch Ultra.

I chose this color as it compliments the Moonlight Blue Audi A4 allroad. Outlining the ruggedness of the allroad, the perfect all-around car.

Space

Thank you for getting this far. It's probably because of the spacing.

If you might have noticed, the images don’t fit the frame of your screen perfectly. It was intended that way to keep you scrolling. It keeps you wondering what is next.

Like Apple.com, there’s a sneak peek as to what is next, keeping your curiosity. There’s a psychological intention to the design. If you see a little bit of something, you’re want to make it fit on your screen, keeping you scrolling.

Similar to Apple’s website, everything on my website has been designed with the end user in mind.
